Just Carina – It's just me and the things I love…
I love These totes and better than that I can make it! Not sure if I will be successful. I have a bad habit of biting off more than I can chew!
I might as well give it a shot. First I have to learn how to sew. Well, maybe a refresher class.
But first I took a million photos on my recent trip to New Orleans. There is one photo in particular that will look super cute in a handmade distressed frame. So I need to download and edit them. Lots to do!!!
Well I finally got my rolling work table done in the garage and was able to fit my car in. Just in time because it is staring to get cold here in Indiana.
Still some more rearranging in my “office” (garage) before I start the next project. I should finish up a dresser for my daughter so she can get her clothes out of the boxes in her closet. Here’s a photo of the progress I have made so far.
This piece had of a lot of drawer pulls that were not the standard size. So I removed them and filled the holes with spackling.
Sanded it down and now I have to mark and drill the new holes. I will be painting it Old White from Annie Sloan chalk paint. I will also be painting the drawers a Louis Blue lightened up with the Old White. I picked up a few beachy knobs and a few rope wrapped drawer pulls. And for the bottom drawers I am trying something new. I thought it would be cute to use nautical rope as the drawer pulls. Not sure if it will work out, but that’s the plan. Hopefully I can start painting today! Turned the heater on in the garage and letting it warm up a bit before I start. I will keep you posted with my progress!

I found this pin and decided to try it. It turned out super cute and have endured the test of time. Thought for sure they would get “wrecked” in my kid home, but to my surprise they have lasted!!
Here are some photos from my project. I used a 3 Doors Down song that my now husband and I listened to when we were dating. We both feel like we were falling in love with each other during this time. However, I am thinking about selling them with the idea that you could ask to have your special song, poem or reading printed. **I haven’t had to wash them so do not know if they will stand the washing machine or if they will start to fade. Hasn’t faded from the sun.

But it wasn’t long enough so I switched to the dining room table. I used a long piece of modeling I used for my photography to help keep the script in line.
Cut little slits at the top and using some of the extra material I tied loops at the top to hang them with.
Here a picture of how they turned out hanging up. They block out the sun better than I expected!

My mom suggested that I make matching lamp shade covers! What a fabulous idea! Add that to my to do list.
Question: why is it on the weekends the kids are up early bugging you for this or that. But on a school day it’s impossible to get them out of bed!!! Where’s that in the Human Handbook?
Well, today I have officially started my newest company, “Just Carina”. What is a Just Carina you maybe asking? It is just me. lol… I love a little bit of everything and have many talents. So I thought I would wrap them all into one little venture that doesn’t do just one thing. I love photography, so why not continue doing that but in a different capacity? I love creating things or refurbishing items. I enjoy shopping and putting together cute trendy outfits. Hmmmm…. I am a mom of 5 beautiful children that keeps me on my toes and can balance/multi task like a champion! It has forced me to think creatively and outside the box. I have a knack for computers and social media. And lastly, I am a huge people person. I love talking to people and getting to know them better. Oh, and I am or was an accountant.
So, how can I wrap all that into one company?? I can’t! So, I will just do a little of this and a little of that (is that a song??) Great that one will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
Speaking of the rest of the day, I better get my butt out to the garage and finish making my table. Hopefully the heater is making it nice and toasty!!
